Lyrics and audio

This land is your land, and this land is my land

From California to the New York Island

From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream Waters

This land was made for you and me

As I went walking that ribbon of highway

And I saw above me that endless skyway

I saw below me that golden valley

This land was made for you and me

I roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps

To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts

All around me a voice was a-sounding

This land was made for you and me

There was a big high wall there that tried to stop me

Sign was painted, said, "Private Property"

But on the back side, it didn't say nothing

This land was made for you and me

When the sun comes shining, then I was strolling

And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling

A voice come chanting as the fog was lifting

This land was made for you and me

This land is your land, and this land is my land

From California to the New York Island

From Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream Waters

This land was made for you and me

Public Lands in Utah and everywhere are threatened by greedy forces

Public lands are under threat of mining, drilling, logging, and most catastrophically, there are concrete plans to sell our public national forests, nature preserves, natural parks, range lands, and most to  developers or private citizens.

Logan, UT — April 28, 2025 — We The People Cache Valley (WTP.CV), a non-partisan, pro-democracy organization, will host a rally on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Cache County Historic Courthouse (199 North Main Street, Logan, Utah). The event kicks off at noon with music and sing-alongs, followed by speeches and activities starting at 12:37 p.m.

WTP.CV invites residents of Cache Valley and surrounding areas to join the rally in support of democracy, civil rights, and equality. Attendees are encouraged to “bring three friends, bring ideas, and bring joy” as the community comes together to defend democratic principles, the free press, and the integrity of government institutions.

The rally will celebrate democratic values and offer a platform for attendees to share personal stories during an open-microphone session. Those wishing to remain anonymous can submit stories in advance to WeThePeopleCV@gmail.com. The stories will highlight important issues such as job and business losses, harassment, the defunding of services, impacts on veterans and medical benefits, and attacks on women’s and LGBTQ rights.

“We believe telling our stories strengthens our community and reminds us that no one stands alone,” said a WTP.CV organizer. “This rally is about being heard, learning, and building lasting connections with neighbors committed to justice.”

The event will also emphasize the importance of local elections, encouraging attendees to consider running for office or supporting candidates who uphold democratic values. Information on upcoming municipal races and key deadlines will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to download the “5Calls” app to stay engaged in political advocacy.

Volunteers are vital to the event’s success. Those interested in helping can sign up at [wethepeoplecv.blogspot.com] or contact WTP.CV via email. Attendees are also asked to register through Mobilize.us for accurate participation tracking.
