*Labor and communities are planning more than a barbecue on Labor Day this year because we have to stop the billionaire takeover.** Billionaires are converting the government into their private slush fund and just passed the largest wealth giveaway in the history of the US. The money they take from working families, they put in billionaires’ pockets and set aside to fund a private army of ICE agents.

We want to stop the billionaire takeover–not just through the ballot box or the courts, but through building a bigger and stronger movement. We are growing our movement and fighting for a country that is more fair, just, equitable, and free for all of us—and not just a chosen few.

On September 1st we will join communities across the country taking a stand on Labor Day to continue the movement we launched together on May 1st, standing in solidarity with all our communities under attack and fighting for real wins for all our people.

WeThePeopleCacheValley join groups from across the nation on Labor Day to fight for the public good over corrupt capitalism, and fight to strengthen working families.

Our rallies highlight cuts and eliminations of programs that hurt working people, including cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, schools, healthcare, childcare, and housing, AND to celebrate people working to preserve American democracy and rights for all. We will host an early evening rally to provide opportunities for musicians, poets, and speakers who express themselves with a range of styles and formats. 

We hope to hear from a wide range of community members about working in today’s America, how the current crisis affects you and others - using original or existing protest songs, poems, or text, and to express your hopes and dreams for a better world.

We will prove a sound system with one or two microphones, and for logistical and time reasons we will limit entries to solo artists or duets.

‘Pattern of lawfare’: Trump is targeting opponents with mortgage fraud claims

First Letitia James, then Adam Schiff and now president has trained his ire on Lisa Cook, threatening to fire Fed governor.

Owner-occupancy fraud is not uncommon. Philadelphia Fed researchers in 2023 estimated that over 20,000 loans were given to “fraudulent investors”, or people who purchased more than one home they listed as a primary residence within a year.

Some political experts have raised concerns that the president and his allies are blatantly using the legal system to intimidate political opponents. “The fact that the law is being selectively applied underlines that this is part of a pattern of lawfare, [using the law to do WARFARE]” Don Moynihan, a professor of public policy at the University of Michigan, told the Guardian via email.

“What we are seeing is the type of weaponization we associate with authoritarian regimes, like Hungary, Turkey or Russia,” Moynihan added. “I would say that this is a massive warning sign, but the reality is that we have seen so many of these signs at this point.”

Wall Street Journal dropped a story just after 3:00 this afternoon, reporting that Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy informed Trump in May that his name appeared “multiple times” in the Epstein files. They told him they did not plan to release any more documents from the investigation because the files contained both the personal information of victims and child pornography.

So, yeah, let's make sure that no one saves a bit of money on their mortgage because they have two homes in order to serve the public while
