Let's create a custom Cache Valley protest song

Let's create a Cache Valley song!

Calling all creative song-writer and musicians

Creative protesters in Washington DC wrote new lyrics for the "This land is our land" song

We tried to copy down a lot of their new lyrics.  They are from the start of the video below.

If a group of self-organizing folks were able to fix this up and develop our own Cache Valley version, it would be fun to sing it at a future event.

Maybe we could develop weekend rallies that focus mostly on signing songs together.  What do you think?

The lyrics would need to be posted online for people to pull up on their phones

This land is my land, This land is your land

From California to the New York island

We are the people, We must be heard now

This land was made for you and me

Now Trump is ruling, Like a dictator

No one to stop him, Not even Congress

We are the people, We must be heard now

This land was made for you and me

Where are the Republicans, Who love their country?

Who use their voices, to do what’s right now?

We are the people, We must be heard now

This land was made for you and me

We must be heard now, We must show courage

This land was made for you and me

Let’s band together, To save our nation

It’s democratic, Not Oligarchic

Let’s get together, To save our nation

This land was made for you and me

You must be heard now, You must have courage

Let’s be together, To save the nation

Hands off our money, Because we earned them

Through paying taxes, What does it take now?

To fix the problem

No one to stop them, Not even Congress

We are the people, We must be heard now

Will do a strike now, To show the nation

That we are serious

This land was made for you and me

Let’s do what’s right now~

Please email WethepeopleCV@gmail.com  if you have developed better lyrics and/or are willing to lead chants or songs at a future event.

THANKS for helping out.

Let's rise up on this emergency to save our democracy, freedoms, institutions, benefits, programs, funding for science, and soooooo much more.
