More suggestions for taking concrete and meaningful action

Be sure that you are registered to vote and that everything is up to date.  

National level

1. BE very public about your distress at the destruction of democracy in our country. Consider using flags, t-shirts, stickers, hats, yard signs to signal the emergency.

2. Attend rallies peacefully. The next national event is John Lewis Good Trouble day on July 17th.

3. Demand that Congress stop the illegal take-over of our free and fair government.  Each constituent has one house member and two senators to email or call.  

4. Use 5calls.org on your computer or mobile. It is an incredible way to stay informed and be heard. Summary info there keeps updating as more illegal action come from the White House and Congress.

5. Urge others to use 5calls too. Emails/rants are easy to compose in advance. Then you can copy the same one into the contact forms for Curtis, Moore and Lee.

6. The focus right now should be on Senator John Curtis, and the UGLY budget bill- the big bill that is being considered by the senate.  TRAGICALLY, this budget passed by a narrow margin-- due to intimidation, backroom deals, violating norms, lying by Senators (both Senators from Utah participated), by House Members, by the White House and right-wing propaganda machine. Other underhanded tactics like extortion, bribery, self-dealing, insider trading (possibly in exchange for a vote? )and other crimes were committed with abandon.

7. Support groups like the ACLU, LEGAL DEFENSE FUND, and Democracy Docket in their lawsuits against the illegal actions. Donate as much $ as you can afford.  

8. Support our brave Judges. Maybe write them thank you letters or post cards?

1. Support local groups. See Logan library’s comprehensive listing of community groups.

2. Form or join communities, meet people, join groups like this one.  Talk to neighbors, friends, colleagues, and even strangers at the market, about what can be done and might help in your community.

PERSONAL ACTIONS AND mindset:

Speak with pursuable persons about the crisis and the urgent need to ACT NOW. NAZI Germany fell very quickly. We each need to identify who is pursuable by ourselves.

Talk face to face about whatever issue resonates with you and your friend.  Please speak with anyone who does not think the situation is serious enough to require their action, or who is under-informed. (Vulnerable persons need to protect themselves)

Attend protest actions whenever you can. Show that all kinds of people demand our rights, health care, national security, private and secure data, governmental services and an even better country.

Be kind, inviting and joyous.  Show that democracy is a welcoming place that will also address the concerns of all kinds of people --through our lawmaking process.

Please do not shame or argue.

Signal the crisis in your own original way.  Yard signs, Tax-the-Rich clothing, FLAGS, bumper stickers and anything you can imagine could be useful.

Be brave and help your bravery be contagious.

Remember only 32% of voter eligible people voted for this AND many of those voters were misled about the actual plans.  Project 2025 is in charge of destructive policy, yet it was fraudulently denied as an influence. 

Remember there is also some good news.  

1. ~95% of judges ruled for democracy.

2. Ukraine made an incredible attack on Russian bombers. It did not harm civilians, like the Russians do on a regular basis.

A parting question:  

Is the avoidable early death of 51,000 Americans the same as intentional mass death?   That number of people is about the population of Logan, Utah. 

Imagine the suffering if all of us died early from some medical situation that could have been prevented?  

Imagine if every single person in 205 LDS wards died early preventable deaths?  Wards typically have 250 people each.
